“THE ARTIST”
Kaitlyn Alridge, (also under the alias "SHAKUR"), is a self-taught painter whose work examines the depth of human experience through emotion, presence, and personal narrative. Her practice centers on portraiture, capturing both everyday individuals and culturally recognized figures in moments of intensity, reflection, or quiet focus.
Kaitlyn's work is guided by her curiosity of life. She is drawn to themes of discipline, purpose, and inner transformation, honoring the individuality and inherent significance of each subject she paints.
Her connection to art began in childhood, when a teacher first recognized her gift and affirmed her identity as an artist. This was an early moment of recognition that would later resurface as a defining truth.
Originally from Florida and now based in Atlanta, her relocation marked a turning point in her practice. It was there that she began to approach painting with greater intention, cultivating her voice through consistency, exploration, and an evolving sense of purpose. Over time, paint became her language, one through which each work communicates with clarity, depth, and conviction.
